NASA Examines Technology To Fold Aircraft Wings In Flight
NASA conducts a flight test series to investigate the ability of an innovative technology to fold the outer portions of wings in flight as part of the Spanwise Adaptive Wing project, or SAW. Flight tests took place at NASA Armstrong Flight Research Center in California, using an autonomous subscale UAV called Prototype Technology-Evaluation Research Aircraft, or PTERA, provided by Area-I.
NASA Glenn Research Center in Cleveland developed the alloy material, and worked with Boeing Research & Technology to integrate the material into an actuator. The alloy is triggered by temperature to move the outer portions of wings up or down in flight.
The ability to fold wings to the ideal position of various flight conditions may produce several aerodynamic benefits for both subsonic and supersonic aircraft.

Why can't we fly a plane into space ?
Why can’t we fly a plane into space, what stops it from just flying higher and higher until we are in space?
Well, there several issues but assuming we are in something like a normal jet airliner, then one of the main problems is the air, or lack of it as we get closer to space.

Unbelieveable AIRBUS A380 HARD CROSSWIND LANDING during a STORM at Düsseldorf - 4K
I have filmed a few thousand crosswind landings at several airports in Europe within the past years, but this Airbus A380 crosswind landing was extremly hard and extraordinary. At first it looked like a pretty normal crosswind approach but after touchdown the pilots tried to align with the runway which looked pretty incredible. I have never seen such a tremendous reaction of an airplane after a touchdown. You can see that the pilots tried to align with the runway by using the tail rudder and luckily it worked out.
This video shows the incredible skills of the pilots. Even after an unexpected wind gust after touchdown they managed to re-align with the runway. Incredible job by the pilots !!

Dramatic Dashcam Footage Shows Plane Crash in Mukilteo Washington
A small plane crashed over a busy road in Mukilteo, Washington, on Tuesday, leaving behind it a burst of flames that was recorded in dramatic dashcam video.
The footage recorded by a motorist's car showed the plane clipping power lines as it went down. There were no injuries, according to the Mukilteo Police Department, which posted images of the wreckage on Twitter. - abcnews (May 3, 2017)

Video Shows Harrison Ford Wrongly Fly Over Plane (+ Interview with Ford?)
Newly released video shows a plane piloted by Harrison Ford mistakenly flying low over an airliner that was taxiing at an airport in Orange County, California last week. Ford's small plane crossed over a taxiing American Airlines 737. (Feb. 22)
Ford was supposed to have landed on a runway parallel to the airliner, which was carrying 110 people, but mistakenly flew over it in a potentially serious mishap.
SANTA ANA, CALIF.—Video released Tuesday shows a plane piloted by Harrison Ford suddenly and mistakenly flying low over an airliner with 110 people aboard at a Southern California airport.
The 45 seconds of soundless video show the 74-year-old “Star Wars” and “Indiana Jones” star’s potentially serious mishap at John Wayne Airport in Orange County.

Woman dragged off a Delta Flight (like a ragdoll)...
“She didn’t check in with gate agent and walked right on. [The] woman blew by gate agent and didn’t check in because she wasn’t an early boarder and deserved overhead bin space. Colleague in back by her said she was mouthy and had a huge attitude. Police tackled her out of her seat and brought her to the ground. Not sure how she was subdued, some people speculated a taser.”

The woman was taken into custody following the incident.
“At approximately 8 this morning, Delta Air Lines contacted Detroit Metropolitan Airport’s police department requesting assistance with a passenger who would not comply with boarding and baggage check procedures at a McNamara Terminal gate,” Delta’s Erica Donerson said in a statement emailed to local station WWJ Newsradio 950.
“When officers arrived, Delta Air Lines stated the woman could not remain on board. Despite repeated requests by officers, the woman refused to leave the aircraft and had to be removed. She was arrested and charges are pending.”
